চ্যানেল আওয়ামীলীগ  গণমাধ্যম হলো রাষ্ট্রের চতুর্থ স্তম্ভ। শক্তির দিক দিয়ে মিডিয়া পারমাণবিক বোমার চেয়েও শক্তিশালী। অ্যাটম বোমা একটি জনপদকে ধ্বংস করে দিতে পারে। কিন্তু মিডিয়া একটি জনপদের গণমানুষের মননে পরিবর্তন এনে একটি সভ্যতার মোড় ঘুরিয়ে দিতে পারে। পুরাতন সভ্যতাকে ভেঙে সেখানে গড়ে তুলতে পারে নতুন সভ্যতা। বাংলাদেশের টেলিভিশন গণমাধ্যম, একটি দল ও ব্যবসায়ী গোষ্ঠীর হাতে কুক্ষিগত। জ্বালানী, আবাসন খাত ও অন্যান্য বাণিজ্যিক স্বার্থের হাতে যখন গণমাধ্যমের সম্পূর্ন নিয়ন্ত্রণ চলে যায় তখন তার ফলাফল কী দাঁড়ায়? সেসব কোম্পানিগুলো মিডিয়ার বাইরেও বিশাল বাণিজ্যিক কর্মকাণ্ডে জড়িত। এদের মালিকানা বিভিন্ন বৃহৎ কর্পোরেশনের হাতে, যাদের বিভিন্ন বাণিজ্যিক ক্ষেত্রে বিস্তৃত আধিপত্য রয়েছে। অনেক সংবাদের বিষয় বস্তুই বিভিন্ন বাণিজ্যিক খাতের সাথে সরাসরি বা পরোক্ষভাবে যুক্ত। এসব বাণিজ্যিক খাতে টিভির  মালিকানাধীন কর্পোরেশন গুলোর অর্থনৈতিক স্বার্থ স্পষ্টভাবে জড়িত। এক্ষেত্রে চ্যানেলগুলো কিভাবে স্বাধীনভাবে সেসব সংবাদ উপস্থাপন করতে পারেনা এই প্রশ্ন স্বাভাবিক কারণেই চলে আসে। তার অন্যতম কারন, বাংলাদেশের টিভি চ্যানে...
